The next one to enter the stage is Berlin act Raving Mad Carlos. This bloke has chosen his alias for an apparant reason because his pulverizing hard electro with every now and then non understandable megaphone vocals makes a pretty bizarre impression. Stranger even are his projections of cryptic images, a strange mix of apocalyptic scènes, nightly dance parties and the worshipping of certain persona.
The most eye catching is Carlos' dark fascination with Dean Martin, who according to the messages shown, is really called Satan and has to be resurrected from death.
The only drawback of this raving mad dj is that he doesn't know when to stop but after a long stretch he eventually puts an end to his auditory attack.

Vervolgens betreedt de eerste Berlijnse act het podium in de figuur van Raving Mad Carlos. Deze kerel heeft zijn alias duidelijk niet voor niks gekozen, want zijn regelmatig verpulverend harde electro met vaak door een megafoon gebrulde, onverstaanbare vocalen maakt inderdaad een tamelijk bizarre indruk. Vreemder nog zijn de op de achtergrond geprojecteerde cryptische beelden, een eigenaardige mengeling van apocalyptische scènes, nachtelijke danspartijen en persoonsverheerlijking. Het meest in het oog springt echter Carlos’ duistere fascinatie met Dean Martin, die getuige voortdurend getoonde boodschappen eigenlijk Satan heet en uit de dood moet worden opgewekt. Nadeel van deze doorgedraaide DJ is overigens wel dat hij niet van ophouden weet, maar na lang rekken staakt hij zijn auditieve aanval uiteindelijk dan toch.

With only rags on his back and a few grains of rice in his pockets , Raving Mad Carlos was picked out of the Atlantic ocean by friendly London, Cockney seal fishers whilst trying to swim for the European Land of Plenty.

The ships captain , a distant relation to notorious East End gangsters the Kray Twins, took a shine to this poor lad from third world Argentina , and taught him English by playing him old Fall 78s on the ships wind up gramophone.
Of course, being from Latin America, RMC had a natural sense of rhythm and in the evenings, for the entertainment of the crew, he would get naked and dance wildly around on the ships deck , to the sounds of traditional European rave music on the BBC World Service Radio, wearing only a pair of white glow-in-the-dark gloves.

The rave sailors kept RMC for 7 years as their mascot on the seal fishing boat until one day the ship was sunk by a German Navy torpedo in the Baltic Sea , only a 10 minutes bus ride from Alexanderplatz ,Berlin -European party central!

The rest, as they say, is history ... RMC took advantage of his intensive ships education , and with this expert knowledge on famous English gangsters, provocative shouting and hardcore rave music , Carlos finally found his destiny on the stages of old Berlin town ,where he still enjoys fame and fortune to this very day.

Rocking the house as a one man band since 1999.Amazing live shows mixing samplers, tapes, analog keyboards and RMC's unique megafoned voice & performance. Currently living in Berlin, having rocked Dublin, Berlin, Barcelona, Rotterdam and Amsterdam

Raving Mad Carlos, born Carlos Szappanos in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Descendant of hungarians germans and spaniards. At the age
of 8 takes his first steps in electrodance to the beats of Georgio
Moroder's "From here to eternity" amplified by a glorious Winco
record player.
At 12 he converts to Heavy Metal. In 1985 discovers the Stranglers
and the British post punk scene. Purchases a cheap bass and starts
jamming with friends. In 1987 starts buying The Fall records, giving
him the status of Fall fan N° 1 in Argentina ( he owns 85 Fall
records increasing)..

In 1988 teams up with guitarrist Alfred B. and
together form Delmonico Drome.
Next year DD plays live for the first time in a disco experimenting
with acid house. In 1992 DD enrolls drummer Osky (actual guest-star
in RMC) and shakes the undergroungnoise scene as a power trio . In
1993 RMC travels to London and gets in touch with bands such as
Elastica, Honey Smugglers,etc.
1995 finds Delmonico Drome at their best, gigging repeatedly in the
B.A. under circuit. Their raw, garage-punk sound is compared to the
likes of The Fall, Stranglers and the so called new wave of new
wave.
In 1996 DD splits up due to the lack of music infrastructure. RMC
begins then his solo career playing as a one man band
(guitar, beatbox & voice).
Next year, he buys a keyboard and starts fidgeting with ultra analog
techno.
In 1998 returns to the stage as X-Rave Seven (including backingvoice
freakgirl). Recorded tapes are used for the first time providing a
wall of noise as base, while abusing guitar and voice. A lo fi
limited cd "X-Rave Seven" and a 7 inch vinyl "Jungle Trip" are
released .
"Into a sea of Cure", an argentine homage to a band called The Cure,
gives RMC the chance to destroy the song "Killing an Arab" in a
killer version à la Stranglers/Wire/Fall.
In 1999 Carlos looses his head and becomes RAVING MAD CARLOS playing
raw, lo-fi tech. His unique sound and performances give him a great
number of admirers.
The new millenium finds RMC giving one of his most remembered shows
where he makes the crowd sing along Cardenale in spite of being an
instrumental gig. This show finishes with RMC stripping off his
clothes much to the astonishment and euphoria of the audience.
In 2001 his song "TechnoCats Fever" aka Cocktail Dress , reaches N°
1 at http://www.yeyeye.com/ website ranking.
2002 y 2003 show a more developed RMC. His new set includes Sampler,
ultra-analog keyboards, tapes and vox.The sampler input enhances his
sound up to Lo-Hi, but still leaking distorted rock-noise. He has
recycled Link Wray riffs, Hasil Adkins rants, samples from obscure
films and actor voices that make for his unique sound.

RMC is proud of being unable to remember the number of speakers &
amps he has burnt down.

Currently living in Berlin RMC has toured through Ireland, Germany ,Spain and Holland.
